This Kolinsky brush is the work of Ichiro Suzuki, a master artisan who has dedicated over 60 years to the art of brush-making since the age of 15. The shaft is finished in "Negoro-nuri," a classic lacquer style that features a striking contrast of vermilion and black. As the red lacquer subtly yields to the black undercoat, it creates a unique, time-honored texture that grows more beautiful the more it is used.

Mr. Suzuki’s lifelong pursuit is to create "the brush that can write or paint anything." His brushes are characterized by a superb "touch" the moment they meet the paper, offering the versatility to transition seamlessly from bold, sweeping strokes to the most delicate details.
Crafted with high-quality Kolinsky hair, this long, slender brush features excellent ink retention, exceptional elasticity, and a perfectly unified tip. It allows for the creation of long, fluid, and supple lines, making it highly recommended for Kana script on Jofuku (large-format) scrolls.
