Collection: 硯 akama suzuri inkstone

The Akama suzuri is an inkstone produced in Shimonoseki and Ube area in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.

It holds a historical significance as a tribute gift and it is known for its hard and dense material, with densely packed "ho-bo" ridges that play the role of grinding ink. As a result, it produces excellent ink color and enables quick ink grinding.

The inkstones by Hieda Gyokuhodo feature a modern and beautiful design that complements contemporary lifestyles. They are designed to highlight the gentle and warm color of the Akama stone.
