【奈良墨: 錦光園】Kaori Sumi "ASUKA" (Kaori means scent in Japanese)
KINKOEN has developed the sumi ink 'ASUKA,' inspired by one of the treasures stored in Nara's Shosoin, the Gigaku Mask.
ASUKA is not just for writing; it entertains us with its interesting stories and its calming scent. The biggest attraction lies in the scent of the ink itself, produced through a special manufacturing method. When casually displayed in a room, the ink's aroma gently wafts through the air, creating a calming effect on the mind.
KINKOEN selected three gigaku masks—'KARURA,' 'RIKISHI,' and 'GOJO'—from a series of Gigaku masks and created special sumi inks.
KARURA wards off bad luck, RIKISHI is for physical health, and WAJO is for beauty. They serve as your lucky charms.
Each mask is stored in an elegant RADEN box, a Japanese decorative technique normally used for lacquerware and woodenware. KINKOEN replicated the beauty of it with specially made boxes.
They are suitable for
1. Display
2. Gift (memories of Japan etc.)
3. Calligraphy, Sumie, Suibokuga,
