硯 How to use the porcelain suzuri

<How to use the porcelain suzuri>
Grind Sumi ink stick as you do on the regular suzuri.
1. Put a few drops of water in the middle of the flat portion of the suzuri.
2. Hold Sumi ink stick with you thumb, index finger and middle finger and gently grind it.
3. Grind Sumi ink stick until you start seeing the surface of the ink stone where the ink stick just passed.
4. If you would like to have pale color, simply add water and adjust the thickness.

Make sure that you wipe the ink stick after you use it. Otherwise it will get cracked.

<How to care>
1. Drop water on the surface of the suzuri and wipe it with the sponge provided.
2. The suzuri does not soak up the colored water, so you can wipe it off with light pressure. If you find the ink still stays, put the suzuri in the water for 2 to 3 minutes to allow the ink to rise to the surface and wipe it off again.
