菘翁用筆 Nukina Suoh

Since its establishment in 1615, HANKEIDO has been cherished by numerous calligraphers. One brush that exemplifies this legacy is the "Suoh Brush," named after Nukina Suoh, a scholar, calligrapher, and literati painter during the late Edo period.
He is also known as one of the "Three Brushes of the Late Edo Period."

"Suoh Brush" was specially commissioned by Nukina Suoh for his personal use.
The red label affixed to it still preserves its appearance from over 150 years ago.

The "Suoh Brush" comes in two sizes, large and small, making it suitable for characters combining Kanji and Hirakana (kana) or for pure kana writing.
