Mr. Junichi Fujino is a brush shokunin at HANKEIDO, the brush workshop that exclusively carries on the ancient craft of making "Maki Fude" that have been handed down through generations, preserving the tradition and demonstrating exceptional Shokunin spirit.

Exclusive Writing Instrument cherished by the imperial family for generations.

    In 2017, Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Akishino, along with Prince Hisahito, visited HANKEIDO. He showcased the skill of Maki Fude.

    "Maki fude," which tightly binds the core bristles with high-quality Japanese paper and secures them with hemp thread on top, is known for its firmness, allowing calligraphers to create bold and powerful lines, making it highly popular among calligraphy enthusiasts.
