Every traditional brush, ink stick, sheet of handmade paper, and inkstone carries the quiet work of Japanese Shokunin —craftspeople shaped by years of experience, patience, and quiet dedication.
At rimpamura, we spend time visiting Shokunin, listening to their experiences, and learning about the materials, techniques, and philosophies behind their work. This conversation session is an opportunity to share what we have learned and to welcome your questions.
Whether you are interested in traditional Japanese writing tools, curious about the making process, or simply wish to deepen your understanding of Japanese craftsmanship, we hope this will be a relaxed and thoughtful conversation.
During the session, we may also introduce selected works by the Shokunin featured by rimpamura to help illustrate the materials, techniques, and ideas we discuss.
